Electric Substation engineering Business Operations Intern

About the role#

This internship offers an opportunity to work within the Electric Engineering organization, reporting to the Senior Director of Electric Transmission Engineering. The role focuses on supporting Substation Engineering through projects designed to drive visibility and efficiency across the organization. This is a high-visibility position involving participation in daily meetings with leadership and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

What you'll do#

• Develop strategies and implementation plans for managing project workflows related to the 2026 capital investment work plan and 2027 planning.
• Support beneficial load growth initiatives and contribute to improving electric service reliability.
• Extract and analyze data from internal systems to formulate findings and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate events and opportunities for the intern cohort within Substation Engineering.
• Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Engineering, Business, Policy, Project/Program Management, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Commitment to continuing full-time education toward your degree during or after the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative and major GPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience with technical writing and presentations.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
