Distribution System Operations Intern

About the role#

The Distribution System Operations Intern will support the operations of the distribution grid by providing analysis, monitoring, and visibility into daily activities. This summer 2026 internship offers the opportunity to gain knowledge of the larger distribution grid while contributing to reliability and operational efficiency.

What you'll do#

• Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI and Tableau to provide visibility and monitoring of operations.
• Maintain Excel files for the control centers.
• Develop and present analysis focused on improving grid reliability.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or an engineering, policy, or economics-related field at an accredited university.
• Must be continuing education towards a degree during or after the internship in a full-time capacity.
• A cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one at least 30 days prior to the start date.
• Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, and work independently with minimal direction.
