Communications, Strategic Engagement & Change Support Intern

About the role#

The Communications, Strategic Engagement & Change Support Intern will join the Visual Management & Insight Services team to support Electric Risk & Compliance. This role focuses on ensuring information is communicated clearly, consistently, and strategically across the organization. You will help plan and deliver messaging that keeps stakeholders informed and aligned as processes, tools, and priorities evolve.

What you'll do#

• Support the development of internal communications including newsletters, recurring updates, and announcements.
• Draft clear, concise, and engaging written content tailored for diverse audiences and leadership levels.
• Translate technical, compliance, or analytical information into easy-to-understand messages.
• Support change management efforts by ensuring messaging is coordinated and clear.
• Explore and apply AI-enabled tools to automate and enhance recurring reporting and communication workflows.
• Partner with analysts and team members to prepare presentation materials, summaries, FAQs, and talking points.
• Manage communication calendars and ensure consistency in messaging, terminology, and formatting.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Must be continuing education towards a degree during or after the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage recurring deliverables and deadlines.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.

• Term: Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (approximately 1-3 days per week in the Oakland office).
• Locations: Sacramento, CA and Oakland, CA.
• This is a paid internship.
