About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern on the Delivery team, you will help build the first power generation component samples for our fusion system. You will work directly with our manufacturing engineering and production teams to gain experience across the product development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Help implement Manufacturing Execution Software (MES).
- Work with build technicians and engineers to create, edit, and release work instructions.
- Capture redlines from technicians and lead meetings to update instructions.
- Assist engineers with tooling design and fabrication.
- Collect, consolidate, and reduce data to identify trends and recommend actions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Willingness to work hands-on with technicians and engineers.
- Ability to listen and collect details during work instruction creation.
- Ability to think on your feet and solve problems as they arise.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Minimum 6 months of previous internship, co-op, or academic project experience.
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Basic experience with CAD software, MATLAB, Python, or Excel.
- Basic experience with machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, and air tools.
- Exposure to MES and MRP systems.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- You must be able to work on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
- Locations: San Leandro, CA; Fremont, CA; or Los Lunas, NM.
- This position is paid.
