About the role#
As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will work directly with our machining and assembly departments at the PACCAR Engine Company facility in Columbus, Mississippi. This role provides hands-on engineering support for our engine manufacturing processes during the Fall 2026 term. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity, focusing on quality control, data analysis, and process improvement.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering support to machining and assembly teams by responding to production issues.
- Identify the root cause of manufacturing problems and work with departments or suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Assist with corrective actions related to daily PQI and internal campaign issues.
- Maintain a database to track problem resolution and identify trends.
- Write, review, and approve process and product validation protocols.
- Support the development of quality systems and ensure manufacturing processes meet control requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering program with at least two years of college completed.
- Proven problem solving skills and the ability to work in a self-directed environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work parts of the day or evening shift.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Eligible majors include Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Biomedical, or Computer Engineering, as well as Business Administration.
