About the role#
OTTO Engineering is hiring a Human Resources Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Carpentersville, Illinois. You will work directly with the HR team to support daily operations and internal communications.
What you'll do#
- Update and review company job descriptions.
- Assist the HR Generalist with the monthly employee newsletter.
- Maintain all office bulletin boards.
- Help coordinate and conduct annual employee vision screenings.
- Support the planning and execution of yearly Fire and Tornado Drills.
- Document company events by taking photos and assisting with logistics for picnics and cookouts.
- Support the Recruiter by managing applicant dispositions.
- Learn internal HR policies and benefits to answer staff inquiries.
- Participate in weekly department meetings.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, specifically in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of organization and accuracy.
- A curious mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
