About the role#
As a Strategic Sourcing Intern, you will work across purchasing, operations, and engineering groups at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing. You will help develop and implement procurement strategies for goods and services from our global supply base. This role involves using problem-solving and communication skills to meet divisional and corporate goals.
What you'll do#
- Participate in strategic sourcing activities, including researching new potential sources.
- Gather and compile information to request quotes, analyze them, and recommend sourcing plans.
- Negotiate long term agreements with suppliers.
- Lead initiatives to improve delivery, quality, cost, and risk management within the supply chain.
- Sustain supplier partnerships through regular communication.
- Develop data analytics tools to improve decision-making capabilities.
- Provide support to buyers and purchasing agents in the procurement process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Business, Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize your workload to meet deadlines.
