About the role#
As a Materials Management Intern, you will support the Materials department at Pierce Manufacturing. This role focuses on using analytical skills to identify opportunities for better material flow and lower costs. You will help develop process improvements and support the team in daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Compile data from ERP systems and spreadsheets to support decision-making.
- Use value stream analysis and PFEP principles to reduce excess material handling.
- Support the standardization and implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy.
- Introduce and promote lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist with continuous improvement events and 5S initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to remain enrolled for the entire duration of the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
