About the role#
As a Materials Intern at JLG, you will support the Materials team with projects focused on improving material flow, transportation efficiency, and overall supply chain operations. This role provides hands-on experience analyzing material and delivery requirements, identifying opportunities for freight consolidation, and supporting the development of efficient material flow throughout the organization.
What you'll do#
- Analyze inbound material, service part, and finished vehicle delivery requirements to create a managed structure for material delivery.
- Identify conveyance utilization inefficiencies, opportunities for freight consolidation, and general cost reductions.
- Develop and implement potential solutions for identified inefficiencies.
- Develop and document processes and procedures related to North American material flow.
- Improve efficiency through the use of ergonomics.
- Develop and manage non-compliance reporting.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current student working towards a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Bedford, Pennsylvania.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- This role involves a mix of office-based tasks and physical activity in production environments, which may include walking on shop floors, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
