About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at JLG, you will support the Manufacturing Engineering team on projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing processes. This role offers hands on experience in a manufacturing environment, where you will work alongside engineers and production teams on process improvements, plant layouts, and new product launches.
What you'll do#
- Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
- Improve material handling methods and perform time studies.
- Develop methods in fabrication and machining processes.
- Perform workstation and cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide technical support to production personnel.
- Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
- Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
- Create documentation for new product launches.
What you'll need#
- Current student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
- Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Working knowledge or exposure to JD Edwards software.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Working conditions: The role involves a mix of office-based tasks and time on the production floor. You may need to stand, walk across shop floors, or lift up to 50 pounds.
