About the role#
The Validation Engineering team at onsemi works across technology development, design, quality assurance, and product engineering. You will help plan and execute validation activities that confirm sensor performance, functionality, and reliability from early silicon through production release. This role focuses on test development, data analysis, and debug to ensure high-quality product readiness.
What you'll do#
- Support validation planning, silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization of new and derivative image sensor products.
- Validate new circuit IP and sensor functions, including memories, OTPM, pumps, regulators, serial communication interfaces, safety mechanisms, and new DFT test modes.
- Develop and improve validation test methodologies, automation, and data analysis flows.
- Enhance existing validation tools by improving scripts, documentation, and reporting workflows.
- Assist with failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and cross-functional debug activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or doctoral program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Coursework focusing on chip-level circuit design, including analog and digital circuit design.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, VB, Perl, C, or bash.
- Experience with electrical lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, power meters, and signal generators.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with CMOS circuit design, test methodology, imager sensor architecture, and product reliability requirements is preferred.
