About the role#
onsemi is seeking a motivated engineering student to join the Wafer Probe Test Engineering group for a summer internship. You will support the electrical testing of MOSFET and IGBT devices at the wafer level, ensuring accurate data collection and performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role blends process and equipment support, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with automated semiconductor testers while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing, debugging, and validating wafer-level electrical test programs.
- Support investigations into yield loss by running experiments, collecting data, and analyzing complex information.
- Qualify and characterize new tools, hardware, tests, and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on probe test equipment.
- Identify production risks before they propagate and track down solutions with rigor.
- Work with onsemi teams around the world on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
- Coursework or basic knowledge in electronics, semiconductor device fundamentals, and circuit analysis.
- Ability to work safely in cleanroom and lab environments.
- Comfort working hands-on with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow procedures with discipline.
- Familiarity with programming concepts, particularly C++ and Python.
- Ability with basic data analysis tools, such as Excel, JMP, MATLAB, or Python.
- Exposure to semiconductor parametric/functional test and characterization.
- Basic understanding of test automation.
