About the role#
As a Defect Inspection Intern, you will join our team in Hopewell Junction to support the inspection of wafers for defectivity in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to improve line health and gain hands-on experience with inspection tools and real-world engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Generate defect Pareto charts and identify root causes for top defects.
- Partner with module teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with defect application engineers to improve defect of interest (DOI) detection.
- Create and execute designs of experiments (DOE) and analyze the resulting data.
- Communicate findings and technical recommendations to broader teams.
- Apply statistical concepts, including multivariate and univariate analysis.
- Manage projects by defining milestones and estimating timelines for your activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program, specifically pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related subject.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or R.
- Familiarity with SQL.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms.
- Preferred: Coursework or experience in semiconductor processing.
- Preferred: Familiarity with 5S, 8D, 6-sigma, SPC, DOE, and FMEM.
