About the role#
Join us this summer as an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician Intern. This entry-level position provides hands-on support to our I&E teams in either Tulsa or Oklahoma City. You will assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems critical to our midstream energy operations. This role involves job shadowing, data analysis, and learning about regulatory and technical compliance.
What you'll do#
- Install, operate, and maintain instrumentation including transmitters, transducers, fire and gas detectors, gas analyzers, and flow computers.
- Maintain and test ESD and safety interlock systems.
- Support the operation of analytical equipment, SCADA systems, remote terminal units, DCS, and PLC systems.
- Maintain and test operation technology networks and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and analytical testing on compressors, engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain low and medium voltage electrical power circuits, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
- Prepare maintenance logs, safety and environmental reports, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and loop sheets.
- Assist with presentations, training, and administrative tasks.
- Perform duties related to pipeline operations, maintenance, or emergency response.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma and at least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment in a relevant technical or related program.
- Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and electrical principles.
- Ability to apply arithmetic, algebra, or statistical methods.
- Critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
