About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship provides a law student with junior-attorney-level experience within the legal department of a proprietary trading firm. You will work alongside experienced counsel on active matters, receive regular feedback, and gain exposure to the corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues facing a firm regulated by the SEC, FINRA, CFTC, and FCA.
What you'll do#
- Review and assist with commercial agreements and vendor contracts.
- Maintain the contract lifecycle management system.
- Assist with entity formation, foreign qualification, and corporate governance filings.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research and prepare written summaries.
- Draft corporate documents, agreements, policies, and notices.
- Assist with ongoing regulatory compliance matters.
- Maintain research and regulatory reference materials.
- Track and flag industry news and legal or regulatory updates.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited law school, Class of 2028 or 2029.
- Strong oral and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Law review, journal, or moot court experience is a plus.
- Strong performance in Contracts and Legal Writing is preferred.
- Familiarity with securities, commodities, or financial services regulation is helpful.
- Prior internship or clinic experience in a legal or financial services setting is a plus.
