About the role#
The Graphic Design Intern will gain hands-on experience creating marketing materials for a diverse portfolio of hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, and event spaces. You will work closely with the Graphic Designer and the Director of Marketing and eCommerce to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world projects. This is an entry-level learning opportunity designed to help you build your portfolio while learning professional design workflows, brand standards, and production practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist with brainstorming and designing marketing materials.
- Create, revise, resize, and adapt layouts for print and digital applications.
- Apply design principles such as layout, typography, spacing, alignment, hierarchy, and visual consistency.
- Prepare and edit images using Photoshop.
- Apply brand fonts, colors, logos, and imagery according to visual standards.
- Make revisions based on feedback and review work for accuracy.
- Learn and follow professional file organization, naming, and production practices.
- Assist with preparing files for print and digital production.
- Help organize creative assets and brand files.
- Support print production and other creative or marketing projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graphic design, visual communication, marketing design, or closely related degree program.
- Familiarity with design principles including layout, typography, hierarchy, alignment, spacing, and visual consistency.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Ability to follow creative direction and project specifications carefully.
- Comfort receiving constructive feedback and making revisions.
- Willingness to ask questions when instructions are unclear.
- Strong attention to detail and a habit of double-checking work.
- Ability to learn new processes and tools quickly.
- Dependability, organization, and the ability to manage deadlines.
- Comfort collaborating and communicating professionally.
- A portfolio featuring class, freelance, personal, or student work is preferred.
