About the role#
The Northern Texas PGA is seeking interns for a 13-week tournament operations program during the Spring of 2027. You will help conduct day-to-day operations for the Junior Tour and Foundation programming. This role offers hands-on experience in event management, rules of golf, and professional development. You will work alongside Section staff, PGA professionals, and industry partners. Interns will also have the opportunity to support select days during the 2027 PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East.
What you'll do#
- Handle pre-tournament tasks including information collection, document printing, and equipment setup.
- Manage on-site registration, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentations.
- Complete post-tournament reports, distribute results, and handle equipment tear-down.
- Communicate with host professional staff, junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectators.
- Transport tournament equipment to and from facilities and maintain inventory.
- Enforce Junior Tour Rules and Regulations, including the Rules of Golf, Caddie Program, and Pace of Play.
- Provide support to Section and Foundation operations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a college degree, with third or fourth-year students preferred.
- Access to an automobile, valid insurance, and the willingness to travel.
- Ability to work early mornings and drive up to 2.5 hours.
- Capacity to work outdoors in extreme weather and temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, such as tents, tables, and signage.
- Physical ability to stand and move on foot for extended periods and safely operate a golf cart.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to speak publicly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, smartphone apps, tablets, and hand-held radios.
- Basic knowledge of the game and rules of golf is preferred.
- An interest in a career in golf or sport administration is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with travel required to tournament sites in East Texas and the DFW Metroplex.
- The term runs from Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- This position is on-site.
