    About the role#

    NISC is hiring a Technical (IT) Services Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work directly with our technical teams to support our software solutions and internal infrastructure.

    What you'll do#

    • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows desktop operating system issues.
    • Join PCs to Windows domains and install NISC software on customer devices.
    • Remove viruses and spyware from systems.
    • Use remote connectivity tools like Remote Desktop to provide support.
    • Set up and test printers on Windows and Linux servers.
    • Provide customer phone support through an Automatic Call Distribution environment.
    • Monitor Windows and Linux servers using Xymon tools and develop action plans for any identified issues.

    What you'll need#

    • A High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in information technology or a related field.
    • Coursework and a general understanding of Windows desktop operating systems, Linux and Windows servers, and TCP/IP networks.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical users.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • A commitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values, professional behavior, and confidentiality.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
