About the role#
NISC is looking for a Database Conversion Programming Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Mandan, North Dakota. You will work with our team to research, design, and convert Member and Customer data to our platforms.
What you'll do#
- Research and convert Member and Customer data to NISC platforms.
- Fix data issues and suggest improvements as directed.
- Analyze and map data to create sound conversion approaches.
- Follow established conversion guidelines and methodologies.
- Perform quality testing, including data validation, verification, and balancing.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Log information in our internal issue tracking tool.
- Uphold NISC Shared Values and take on other assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Linux, and command-line interfaces.
- Familiarity with ETL tools, processes, and best practices.
- Basic understanding of business software, the Utility Industry, and project management theory.
- Strong attention to detail and research skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate effectively with customers.
