About the role#
This co-op position is based in an accredited ISO 17025 laboratory. You will support UL and Department of Energy testing while gaining hands-on experience with data acquisition equipment. You will work with a team to validate new energy-efficient motor and control designs for HVAC, pool, and automation applications. You will also lead an individual project from concept through implementation with guidance from an experienced engineer.
What you'll do#
- Assist in testing HVAC motors and electronic controls using manual and automated methods.
- Support the development and execution of test procedures for accredited motor testing.
- Create and implement test plans focused on product performance and efficiency.
- Collect, organize, and analyze test data using Excel and other software.
- Prepare technical reports and share findings with engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering, or Physics.
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week during normal business hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
