About the role#
This co-op position supports the Custom Design Marketing (CDM) team in St. Louis. You will gain exposure to the engineering, product management, sales, and customer experience functions while working with industrial motors. This role is a full-time, on-site opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Assist the CDM team with the technical review and data entry of NEMA frame and above NEMA frame industrial motors.
- Match consulting engineer technical specifications to current product offerings.
- Collect and analyze data for market analysis based on quotes and orders.
- Research, monitor, and post projects for the Sales and CDM teams.
- Document the quoting process by writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on team interviews and shadowing.
- Assist in the cost analysis of new and existing products and features.
- Develop tools to identify motor categories such as stock, conversion, and engineer-to-order (ETO).
- Update historical dimension prints and organize shared documentation.
- Create and update guides regarding NEMA and IEC motor design differences.
- Gather and categorize customer feedback to support product and pricing improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Standing as a pre-engineering student or entering the last two years of college.
- Technical inclination and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive mindset with a curiosity for investigating and resolving issues.
- Prior co-op or internship experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical motor applications is preferred.
- Fluency in English with the ability to write clear reports, correspondence, and manuals.
