About the role#
WAVY-TV 10 and WVBT FOX43 are looking for a Digital Intern for the Spring 2027 semester. This is an unpaid, for-credit position based in our Portsmouth office. You will gain experience in a local newsroom by helping our team produce and share content for our digital platforms.
What you'll do#
- Write articles for the web.
- Produce multimedia stories focused on the Hampton Roads area.
- Help manage our website with regular updates and new content.
- Create posts for Facebook and Twitter to promote our coverage.
- Learn how different departments in a television station work together.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college degree program and proof of enrollment in an internship course.
- Completed coursework in writing and editing.
- Working knowledge of WordPress, CMS, and social media platforms.
- A willingness to learn the daily operations of a local newsroom.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Portsmouth, Virginia.
- The position requires 12 to 15 hours of on-site work per week.
- Your schedule will vary between Sunday and Saturday and will be set in coordination with your supervisor.
