About the role#
As a Community & Population Health Intern, you will work under the supervision of a preceptor to support the Division of Community and Population Health. This role offers hands-on experience within community health programs and ambulatory health centers. You will gain insight into how the hospital addresses social determinants of health through community education, stakeholder collaboration, and preventive resources.
What you'll do#
- Perform administrative and research-based projects.
- Assist with workflow processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Gather, evaluate, and analyze data from multiple sources to prepare reports.
- Support daily administrative duties.
- Participate in team huddles, strategic meetings, workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
- Engage with focus areas including ambulatory care, behavioral health, chronic disease prevention, digital health equity, and maternal child health.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s Degree and current enrollment in a graduate program.
- An interest in Community and Population Health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and solve problems using quantitative and qualitative data.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in New York, NY.
- All roles require on-site presence, and you must live within a commutable distance.
- Terms available include Summer 2027, Fall 2027, Winter 2028, and Spring 2028.
- Interns may be required to travel to various locations.
