About the role#
The Design Intern is an early-career designer who contributes directly to visual work across NewWorld shows, campaigns, and media brands. You will design social content, visual assets, and creative explorations that bring ideas to life across digital platforms. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate with designers, strategists, and producers to translate concepts into clear, engaging visuals. You will gain experience working inside a media studio where strategy, research, and design shape narratives.
What you'll do#
- Design visual content for campaigns, shows, and storytelling initiatives across digital platforms including social media graphics and platform-native designs.
- Develop visual identities by exploring typography, color systems, and layout approaches for new media properties.
- Participate in early creative development by creating moodboards, rough concepts, and prototypes to test new ideas.
- Present work in creative reviews, incorporate feedback, and maintain organized files and design systems.
- Use AI-assisted tools for image generation, concept development, visual prototyping, and video creation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a design, art, or creative program.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong fundamentals in typography, layout, and visual composition.
- Experience designing for digital platforms or social media.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and working knowledge of Figma.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and collaborate with others.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to improving your craft.
- Curiosity about how design influences culture, storytelling, and audience engagement.
- Experience or interest in motion design, animation, or video editing tools such as Premiere, After Effects, or CapCut is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a remote role based in the United States or Canada, with a preference for candidates living in New York, NY or Toronto, ON.
- This is a paid, temporary position at $25 per hour.
- The role is part-time, expected to be 20-25 hours per week for a duration of three months.
- NewWorld operates primarily on East Coast business hours (9am-6pm EST).
