About the role#
Newnan Utilities offers internship opportunities for students to gain experience in our Customer Service department. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Newnan, Georgia. We are looking for students who are at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in high school, university, or a technical college.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and help them with their needs.
- Provide support and information about our products and services over the phone or in person.
- Process customer payments and keep account information current.
- Answer questions regarding billing and account inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
- Balance your cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Escalate complex issues or complaints to the Customer Service Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
- Direct incoming calls and correspondence to the right place.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in high school, university, or a technical college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Accuracy when handling cash.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Ability to learn new software and computer programs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
