    About the role#

    The Underwriting Externship is a one-day immersive program within the Group Benefit Solutions division. It provides students with a firsthand look at the daily responsibilities of a group insurance underwriter. You will explore how the team assesses risk and supports clients while gaining insight into potential career paths within the financial services industry.

    What you'll do#

    • Shadow experienced underwriters to observe real-world decision-making and client interactions.
    • Conduct hands-on financial and risk analysis to learn the fundamentals of the field.
    • Participate in one-on-one mentorship with professionals in the Group Benefit Solutions division.
    • Network with leaders and underwriters across the organization.
    • Engage in career exploration to evaluate your interest in insurance and financial services.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Analytical skills and comfort working with data and numbers.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • An innovative, business-minded, and customer-focused approach.

    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Term: Rolling.
    • This is an unpaid, full-day student immersion program.
