About the role#
New York Life offers a summer internship program for students interested in financial functions such as planning and analytics, budget and expense management, and controllership. This full-time, paid position provides hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to senior management. The program is designed to develop business and leadership skills through training and collaborative projects.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training classes focused on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and industry concepts.
- Attend weekly seminars presented by professionals from Corporate Finance, Insurance, and Investments groups.
- Engage in public speaking workshops to develop communication skills.
- Work with a mentor who is a full-time Finance employee.
- Attend networking events, including social gatherings and sessions with senior leadership.
- Deliver a formal presentation at the end of the summer regarding your internship experience and projects.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior working toward a Bachelor's degree.
- Pursuing a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with generative AI.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employment-based sponsorship.
