About the role#
This Data Engineer internship is part of the Technology, Data, AI & Ventures (TDAV) organization at New York Life. You will work on projects that support the company's data infrastructure and help translate complex systems into business outcomes. This is a full-time, 11-week program designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional financial services environment.
What you'll do#
- Build scalable data architectures and pipelines while automating data processes.
- Enhance data quality frameworks and support cloud infrastructure initiatives.
- Contribute to AWS automation, data warehousing, and workflow optimization.
- Improve data management and governance by utilizing AI and machine learning technologies.
- Support platform integration by developing and maintaining standardized pipelines and frameworks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with a solid understanding of data warehousing principles.
- Experience with AWS, dbt, Databricks, Redshift, GCP, Glue, PostgreSQL, or Informatica Data Management Cloud is preferred.
- Ability to work full-time for the duration of the 11-week program from May to August.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is based in New York, New York.
- The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week on-site in New York City.
