About the role#
The National Youth Advocate Program is looking for a Master's level intern to join the Family Preservation team in Sharonville, Ohio. This role provides hands-on experience working directly with youth and families in the community. You will also have the chance to observe other therapeutic areas within the agency to gain a broader understanding of the clients and communities we serve. This is a paid, full-time internship that requires enrollment in a Master of Social Work or Master of Clinical Counseling program.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
- Manage cases and provide transportation for clients.
- Travel to provide community-based services in compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
- Review and update youth-based plans to ensure consistent progress toward goals.
- Assist with family reunification and stabilization efforts.
- Complete all required documentation and training on time.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
- Current enrollment in a Master of Social Work or Master of Clinical Counseling program where this internship is a formal requirement.
- LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, tablets, and standard office software.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
- Experience in direct service with youth and families is preferred.
- The ability to maintain professionalism and objectivity in all job functions.
