Over the years the program has provided students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful, career-relevant work at National Life Group in preparation for full-time employment. This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Market Research Intern will support projects focused on consumer insights, market sizing, and sales trend analysis. This role provides an opportunity for an undergraduate student to gain hands-on experience working with real business data to inform strategic decisions. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, distribution, strategy, and product to help uncover insights about customer behavior, market opportunities, and business performance. This position is ideal for a student interested in applying analytical and research skills in a business setting. Assist in analyzing consumer data (customer demographic data, survey data, qualitative interview data) to identify trends and insights Support market sizing and segmentation analyses to evaluate growth opportunities across products, markets, and customer segments Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, drivers of performance, and areas for improvement Help develop presentations and reports that communicate insights clearly to stakeholders Conduct competitive and industry research to inform strategic initiatives Partner with team members to translate data into actionable business recommendations Support ad hoc research and analytics projects across marketing and strategy teams QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Minimum Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Advanced Excel functions, Tableau, Power BI or R) Familiarity with market research methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups) Interest in financial services, insurance, or consumer behavior Prior internship or project experience involving data analysis or research AI Proficiency Expectations At National Life Group, we view AI as an enabler of human potential. The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
