NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION & EXPO NEWSROOM ANCHOR INTERNSHIP

About the role#

The National FFA Organization is seeking interns to serve as Newsroom Anchors for the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional newsroom environment, including coaching from industry experts in television, radio, and public relations. Selected interns will build a professional portfolio by delivering content to a large national audience.

What you'll do#

• Host FFA Live!, the convention’s streaming broadcast, throughout the week.
• Conduct live and prerecorded interviews with convention guests and sponsors.
• Write and edit scripts while staying current on event schedules and key convention happenings.
• Deliver news segments and engage with a co-anchor and the audience at home.
• Tell the stories of convention attendees in meaningful and impactful ways.
• Navigate the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium to create content, which may involve extended periods of walking, standing, and carrying equipment.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in broadcast journalism, telecommunications, agricultural communications, or a closely related field.
• Proven on-air experience and comfort in front of a camera.
• Ability to write scripts on deadline and draft interview questions.
• Prior experience or knowledge of agriculture or the FFA is considered a bonus.
