About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineer Co-op supports the engineering team in maintaining accurate production documentation and optimizing plant operations. This role is based in Jackson, Michigan and involves working directly with assembly, tool-room, and press shop equipment. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing bills of materials for all products.
- Track Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) and coordinate timing with Scheduling, Tooling, and Quality Control.
- Develop and maintain operator instructions and plant equipment layouts.
- Manage the part-numbering system for raw materials, components, and assemblies.
- Compile reports, process plans, and production standards using database and spreadsheet software.
- Advise management on potential process improvements and technical problems.
- Ensure all work complies with TS16949, ISO 14001, and health and safety requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program for Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
- Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Drafting and drawing skills using software such as AutoCad or CadKey.
- Understanding of assembly, tool-room, and press shop equipment.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
