About the role#
This is an unpaid Level I occupational therapy internship. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist or program coordinator to support our community services. This role is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited occupational therapy program affiliated with Sheppard Pratt or Mosaic Community Services.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead OT groups in the community and at the PRP.
- Complete screenings and assessments, and assist with their interpretation.
- Document OT groups, 1:1 sessions, and integrated health reports.
- Use chart reviews, interviews, and assessment tools to develop OT plans based on recovery themes and OT theory.
- Collaborate with clients, staff, and other students to plan interventions.
- Manage your time, workspace, and daily duties to ensure safe and efficient service.
- Complete academic assignments related to your fieldwork.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Status as a Level I occupational therapy student.
- Ability to plan and implement OT groups.
- Competence in documenting the OT process.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with clients and staff.
- Commitment to providing safe, ethical services in line with agency policies and the OT code of ethics.
