DVM Externship

About the role#

Morganside Veterinary Clinic offers DVM students an opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience through a structured externship. This program focuses on professional growth and building confidence by practicing medicine across a spectrum of care, balancing high medical standards with practical treatment options that respect client circumstances.

What you'll do#

• Work one-on-one with experienced veterinarians to set and achieve learning goals.
• Participate in daily patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Engage in discussions regarding real cases, treatment options, and the reasoning behind clinical choices.
• Operate within a team-oriented environment that prioritizes ethics, communication, and client relationships.
• Tailor your experience to align with your academic requirements and interests, such as surgery, client communication, or general practice.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited veterinary medicine program.
• Completion of at least the first year of DVM studies.
• An interest in general practice, community-focused medicine, or spectrum-of-care approaches.

• Compensation: Students are eligible to receive reimbursement for eligible expenses, up to $600 per week.
