About the role#
The Group Sales Intern works closely with the Group Sales team to implement Washington Wizards sales initiatives and achieve ticket sales and revenue goals. This role focuses on the fundamentals of the sales process and the execution of events and initiatives. This is a paid, part-time, seasonal position.
What you'll do#
- Research, expand, and manage the group sales database with a focus on strategic categories for event planning.
- Make introductory phone calls to group sales prospects.
- Help plan and carry out group sales events and implement fan experiences on game days.
- Prepare marketing materials related to group initiatives and programs.
- Support the department with assigned projects and administrative needs.
- Work home games in various roles, including staffing sales or giveaway tables, managing in-game group fan experiences, and game day prospecting.
- Build positive relationships to provide excellent customer service and generate repeat business.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong desire to succeed.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and housing.

- Availability: Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week from September through May, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
