About the role#
The Corporate Communications Intern supports the communications team in sharing the company story with internal and external audiences. This role works in coordination with marketing and communications teams across all owned and operated brands. The position is open to undergraduate and graduate students seeking experience in sports industry communications.
What you'll do#
- Compile daily press clips.
- Maintain departmental tracking grids including the editorial calendar and upcoming conferences or awards.
- Use media tracking software to monitor and measure earned media activities and generate reports.
- Assist in research and drafting for press releases, advisories, award submissions, and executive briefs.
- Organize and manage files within the shared department drive.
- Provide support for games, concerts, and live events at Capital One Arena, EagleBank Arena, and community initiatives as needed.
What you'll need#
- Previous internship experience in public relations, journalism, communications, or sports management.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce professional-caliber content.
- Demonstrated understanding of media relations and corporate communications.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with critical thinking and digital literacy.
- Knowledge of the sports business industry and current relevant topics.
- Understanding of overall branding and messaging goals.
