About the role#
As Restaurant Service Staff, you provide operational support in our full-service restaurant and assist with event and hospitality execution. You work under the supervision of the Hospitality Coordinator to ensure students and guests have a positive experience. This role requires you to be the first point of contact for visitors and maintain a welcoming environment.
What you'll do#
- Handle all orders, transactions, and payment processing.
- Provide table service, including food delivery and clearing tables.
- Maintain all guest-facing areas to ensure a clean space.
- Follow all safe food handling and alcohol service protocols.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and partners.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies to protect the team and guests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mohawk College program.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Customer service experience.
- Availability to work based on department needs and your school schedule.
- Understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Preference is given to candidates with food service experience, a food handler certification, and knowledge of dietary restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Hamilton, Ontario.
- Modality: On-site, with potential travel between campuses.
- Hours: 0 to 20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
- Compensation: $21 per hour.
- Term: 4-month contract.
