About the role#
The Community Relations Intern supports the planning and execution of community outreach, game presentation, and fan engagement initiatives for Minnesota Major League Volleyball. This role focuses on strengthening relationships within the community and enhancing the team brand through collaborative events and promotional activities.
What you'll do#
- Support community engagement initiatives and represent the team at events.
- Assist with community outreach programs, youth clinics, school visits, and fan engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities and community service initiatives.
- Assist with the planning and execution of promotional events and special team activations.
- Support game presentation staff with in-arena entertainment and fan engagement activities during home matches.
- Write and update game scripts, including promotional reads, sponsorship elements, and entertainment cues.
- Participate in game operations meetings and assist with general game-day responsibilities.
- Assist with social media content and research fan engagement trends.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a community relations or programming role is preferred.
- Event planning experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for games and events.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
