About the role#
The Intern, Community Relations and Hockey Partnerships will support the department in the execution of various programs and events. This role involves managing daily administrative tasks, coordinating school programs, and assisting with community outreach initiatives. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Manage the Community Relations inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Coordinate logistics for the Little Wild Learn to Play Program, including setup, execution, and breakdown at various sites.
- Oversee the Minnesota Wild Faceoff for Fitness school program by scheduling visits, acting as a point of contact for schools, and coordinating the program team.
- Assist with donation requests by reviewing submissions, preparing items for distribution, and maintaining inventory records.
- Provide daily care and supervision for the team dog, including walks, feeding, and handling during game days and special events.
- Support various department events such as Hockey Day Minnesota, youth hockey spotlights, community partner appearances, and charitable drives.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in customer service or the sports industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the sport of hockey is preferred, with skating ability considered a plus.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess a large vehicle capable of transporting hockey equipment to various locations.
- Comfort working with dogs and no allergies that would interfere with their care.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the game and event schedule.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
