About the role#
Milliman is seeking an IT Support Intern to join our Casualty IT Support team in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This role focuses on maintaining technology infrastructure for our local practice. You will handle a mix of hardware setup, remote diagnostics, and technical projects. The position requires a commitment of 10 to 30 hours per week during the 2026-27 school year.
What you'll do#
- Respond to incoming tickets and ad hoc requests from local and remote users.
- Resolve technical issues and research incidents with attention to detail.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
- Physically install, configure, and relocate hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Provide A/V support for in-office meetings.
- Create and update technical process documentation and contribute to the IT knowledge base.
- Complete hardware refresh workflows and manage compliance for retired assets.
- Assist users with orientation and guidance on new software and equipment.
- Follow internal approval procedures for all technical changes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft software.
- Proficiency with hardware including laptops, printers, and conferencing equipment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and O365 environments.
- Experience with AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or GitHub.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks like climbing stairs, stooping, and crawling.
- Strong communication skills and a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Experience with image deployment, Active Directory, non-Windows platforms like Linux or Mac, and previous professional office experience.
