About the role#
This summer internship gives university students the chance to work on a significant process improvement project within a manufacturing environment. You will be based at the Milliken Cushman plant and report directly to a manager, such as a Senior Process Engineer or Process Improvement Manager. This is a paid, full-time position running from mid-May through the first of August. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
What you'll do#
- Manage a manufacturing-related project to achieve results.
- Use continuous improvement techniques to determine solutions.
- Identify unique approaches to problem solving through creative thinking.
- Communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of people to implement project improvements.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising junior or senior at a university working toward a BS degree.
- Ability to participate in the Summer Challenge Forum in Spartanburg, SC, during the first week of June.
- Ability to participate in a final presentation review.
- Preferred majors include Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Textile engineering.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheets is preferred.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Ability to start work on or before May 25th is preferred.
