About the role#
As a research intern, you will help develop and validate system-modeling capabilities for datacenter and AI workloads. You will evaluate memory-centric architectures at rack scale to quantify tradeoffs before hardware implementation. This role involves turning architecture hypotheses into quantified evidence that informs long-term product direction.
What you'll do#
- Analyze AI training and inference workloads to determine requirements for memory bandwidth, capacity, and latency.
- Build and contribute to analytical and simulation models to evaluate system architectures.
- Assess system-level tradeoffs related to emerging memory and integration technologies.
- Benchmark models against reference data to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.
- Produce analyses on performance, efficiency, and cost to guide architectural decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in computer architecture and system-level performance analysis.
- Proficiency in Python for building analytical models.
- Ability to analyze complex memory and AI performance challenges.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The position is based on-site in Folsom, California, or San Jose, California.
- The pay range for this position is $50.24 to $55.82 per hour.
