About the role#
As a Systems Performance Engineering Intern, you will join the Data Center Workload Engineering team. You will work on a defined project to analyze how memory and storage products perform in data center environments. This role involves working with production-class laboratory hardware, including enterprise servers and GPU-accelerated systems. You will receive mentorship from experienced engineers and contribute to technical outcomes that may be considered for publication.
What you'll do#
- Execute performance validation and benchmarking on enterprise servers, GPU-accelerated systems, and data center storage platforms.
- Configure and run customer-representative workloads, such as AI inference, databases, virtualization, checkpointing, or object storage.
- Collect, validate, and analyze system and device telemetry to ensure data quality and repeatability.
- Develop or improve Python-based automation tools for test setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Investigate performance characteristics and present findings to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in operating systems, computer architecture, or systems programming.
- Experience working in Linux environments, including command-line tools, file systems, and basic administration.
- Programming experience in Python, C, C++, or a similar language.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using AI-assisted coding tools.
