About the role#
The DRAM Thin Films Process Engineering team develops materials and deposition processes for memory scaling and device performance. As an intern, you will work with experienced engineers on a summer project focused on process development and optimization. You will gain hands-on experience with experimental design, characterization, and data analysis while collaborating across teams. You will present your findings to technical and leadership audiences at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Research and develop solutions for memory technology and thin film process advancement.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to improve process performance, manufacturability, and product quality.
- Use statistical analysis, data science, and AI tools to identify trends and optimize performance.
- Partner with process, equipment, and integration engineering teams to solve technical challenges.
- Report project objectives, technical findings, and recommendations through presentations and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Ph.D. in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge of semiconductor processing, thin films, or materials characterization.
- Background in experimental design, statistical methods, or engineering problem-solving.
- Interest in applying AI, machine learning, or digital engineering tools to improve workflows.
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently.
- Familiarity with tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, or data visualization software.
- Experience analyzing complex data sets and translating results into engineering recommendations.
- Strong communication skills to share technical information effectively.
