About the role#
As an intern on the Heterogeneous Integration Group HBM Architecture team, you will work with architects and engineers to support the development of HBM PHY and IO subsystems. You will contribute to digital design methodologies, automation frameworks, and architecture validation solutions. This position provides hands-on experience with timing analysis and the use of AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve design efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Support digital design, integration, and timing analysis for HBM PHY and IO subsystems, including timing constraint development and closure.
- Develop and implement verification solutions using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM-based environments.
- Analyze simulation results to debug functional or timing-related issues.
- Create Python-based automation tools and workflows that leverage Large Language Models and Generative AI.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and product engineering teams to evaluate features and validate architectures.
- Document findings and present results through design reviews and engineering discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of digital design concepts like finite state machines, pipelining, clock-domain crossing, and computer architecture.
- Experience with RTL design and verification using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or a comparable programming language.
- Experience working in Linux-based development environments.
- Familiarity with digital implementation flows, static timing analysis, and timing closure methodologies.
- Experience with EDA tools from vendors such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens.
- Coursework or project experience in VLSI design, memory systems, or mixed-signal design.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
