About the role#
As a Customer Systems Engineering Intern, you will support enterprise storage products throughout their lifecycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to investigate technical issues, assist with customer qualifications, and analyze product failures. This role involves building technical expertise in storage technologies while developing customer-facing and problem-solving skills.
What you'll do#
- Develop AI-enhanced tools to improve engineering efficiency and streamline workflows.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to support product qualification and deployment.
- Assist with firmware release processes and firmware management.
- Support failure analysis for returned products during high-volume manufacturing and customer deployments.
- Investigate customer-reported issues and collaborate with engineering teams to reach technical resolutions.
- Analyze system-level behavior and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Create and present technical findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders.
- Use modern AI tools and large language models to improve productivity and innovation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of computer systems and storage technology, including processors, memory, operating systems, drivers, firmware, and hardware-software interactions.
- Programming experience in C and Python.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using AI tools and large language models like Copilot, Claude, or Gemini.
- Knowledge of storage interfaces and protocols, including SATA, SAS, PCIe, and NVMe.
- Experience with debugging, system validation, or failure analysis through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Familiarity with SSD architecture, firmware, or enterprise storage solutions.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Longmont, Colorado.
