About the role#
Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Frequency and Time Systems business unit in Boulder, Colorado. You will work within the Government Systems group to contribute to research and development programs focused on precise time, frequency, and synchronization systems. This role involves leading an engineering project tailored to your specific interests and experience, with direct guidance from a senior engineer.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of new product specifications and evaluate new parts.
- Engineer embedded systems and algorithms for time applications.
- Develop automation scripts to improve engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Software engineering teams to create solutions.
- Create and support electronic circuit designs, including PCBs and PCBAs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math, or a related field.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and debugging embedded systems.
- Familiarity with electronic components and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
- Experience using digital test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- US Citizenship is required for this position due to ITAR site requirements.
