About the role#
The Membership & Programs Fellow supports the day-to-day delivery of core programs and the member experience at the Michigan Black Business Alliance. This hands-on position offers exposure to nonprofit program management, small-business support services, and community events. You will work directly with the Director of Member Experience and program facilitators to help build resources for Black-owned businesses. This is a 10-month position running from August 2026 through May 2027, requiring up to 30 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Collect facilitator updates and maintain the cross-program tracking workbook and rollup report.
- Update the Monday.com programs tracker by logging action items and following up on tasks.
- Provide on-the-ground support for program milestones, including cohort orientations, workshops, and graduation ceremonies.
- Coordinate technical assistance requests and participant intake.
- Support membership onboarding, track engagement, and help identify member needs.
- Handle data entry, attendance tracking, and outcome documentation for board and funder reports.
- Prepare materials such as program one-pagers and progress summaries.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for program partners and vendors.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a degree in business, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets like Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with Monday.com or similar project-management tools is a plus.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in Black entrepreneurship, economic development, and community-based programs.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Detroit, Michigan.
- You must be able to work on-site for the duration of the fellowship.
- This is a paid, part-time position.
