Operations Analyst- Maintenance of Way, Emerging Talent Intern

About the role#

The Operations Control Center (OCC) – Maintenance of Way (MOW) serves as the central command hub for coordinating track and infrastructure maintenance across the subway system. This internship provides hands-on exposure to a live transit control center, supporting superintendents and senior officials with project management, data analysis, and digital tool optimization. Interns will document workflows and present a final project at the conclusion of the term.

What you'll do#

• Build and update SharePoint sites, Microsoft Lists, and Monday.com boards to coordinate projects and track equipment status.
• Create and test Power Automate flows and small AI automations to replace manual data entry tasks.
• Clean, organize, and migrate data from Access into the cloud.
• Maintain Power BI dashboards to track incident response and weekend coverage for leadership.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with multi-team contractors.
• Support operations floor staff with data requests, IT ticket submissions, and system access tracking.
• Maintain BETS data entry, distribution lists, and training records.

What you'll need#

• Currently matriculated in a graduate program with at least a 2.8 GPA.
• Preferred majors include Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an active team player while prioritizing tasks under pressure.
• High attention to detail.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
