Administrative Support, Emerging Talent Intern

About the role#

The Emerging Talent Intern supports the Queens North Division Office of the General Manager, which oversees four bus depots. This role assists with administrative functions including budget compliance, performance tracking, and service delivery goals. The intern serves as a liaison between depots and human resources, providing support for both transportation and maintenance functions.

What you'll do#

• Enter daily fuel and traffic data into department files to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Review depot self-audits to verify compliance with internal standards.
• Compile, analyze, and submit daily and weekly division-wide reports for executive review.
• Maintain organized filing systems and manage bus records to ensure they remain accessible and compliant.
• Perform data entry and prepare documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
• Assist with special projects to gain experience in transit operations and workforce support.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate (minimum 2.5 GPA) or graduate (minimum 2.8 GPA) program.
• Preferred majors include Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain a keen eye for detail.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
